Then & Now
John: So it's been what, a few hours? And Vicki looks disheveled like she's been trapped for a week.
Christine: Well, it feels like it's been days since she fell asleep on a dusty cot, saw Bill Malloy's ghost, and shattered an antique glass on the bars of the window.
John: Last week we saw the look on Joe's face when he had finally had enough of Carolyn's high-maintenance. Today, we get a glimpse of infatuation on his face when Maggie walks through the rigging of a schooner's sails...
Christine: I wonder how much Maggie studied up on boating to prepare for this date. She's captured his seafaring heart for sure.
John: Ten years later, and it's still somewhat of a surprise that they didn't drag out Vicki's disappearance for a few more days. Of course, the real question is what happens next, since David will be hard-pressed to convince his aunt and father that he's not responsible.
Do you think Roger used to run a spook-show? The way he orchestrates his taunting of Vicki was too impressive to have just been improvised on the spot.
Christine: I'm just wondering how he found her so quickly with more than 40 rooms in the house to investigate.
Shadows on the Wall
John: Do we have any idea who was holding the slate for today's episode? It's not too often we see a face!
Christine: We do not. He is not the usual crew member whose face we've seen in Episode 16 and 42.
John: Is it time to launch a secret-passage tracker? Sadly trying to map out the house's manufactured-for-convenience layout would be impossible.
Christine: How delightful to have Roger lead us through the secret passage on a tour of the closed section of the house, traipsing up and down the same carpeted steps and ascending the spiral staircase. We'll keep an eye on the secret passages for certain.
The Evans' cottage has a new clock on the bookshelf so we can keep track of how late Maggie and Joe's date runs and how long Sam stays out wandering drunkenly around Collinsport.

As you pointed out, Elizabeth found the key that David had. I can only think that the key that was in the lock (and then on the floor outside) was put there by the ghost of Bill Malloy. It's too bad that he didn't put in the lock on Victoria's side of the door.
So Carolyn and Burke drank and listened to music, while Joe and Maggie spent their evening talking about boats. I know which one sounds more romantic, yet Joe and Maggie's evening lasted longer. (Does it count as a date? Sam was supposed to be there too.)
Yeah — I wonder if Sam was crashed out drunk, lying on the floor behind the sofa...
