Shadows on the Wall: Episode 85

Before continuing, you may enjoy revisiting our original 50th anniversary summary and commentary: https://dsb4idie.blogspot.com/2016/10/episode-85-102166.html

Then & Now

John: I guess it was pretty obvious that Vicki was going to spend the weekend locked away...

First-time viewers never could have dreamed that so shortly after hearing Burke and Sam lament Bill's absence, that everyone's best dead friend would return, singing! Of course I still wonder why ghostly Bill didn't open the door for her...

Christine: Maybe Vicki is actually safer where she's at right now. Although I can't help thinking that candle burning right next to a large stack of papers could have easily started the first fire on the set.

What a delight to hear Elizabeth tell her daughter that the world doesn't revolve around Carolyn Stoddard. What took her so long? Perhaps she was the one who gave Carolyn that impression in the first place.

It was interesting that Burke said Vicki Winters was the only one he wouldn't want to scare up at Collinwood. So David and Carolyn are still fair game.

Shadows on the Wall

John: So after Carolyn sent Joe away in yesterday's episode, she went upstairs, put on a dress, and then got her hair done in a new style?

Was that Bartender Bob that Burke kept calling Andy?

Christine: Punchy to Joe, Andy to Burke. Bartender Bob does not get the respect he deserves!

Do you suppose it was the ghost of Bill Malloy we heard trying to blow out the candle after his warning to Vicki? What a great way to end the week with another ghost sighting!

A few more things worth noticing…

I'd rather listen to a couple of drunks sing "What Should We Do with a Drunken Sailor?" for 20 minutes than watch another tantrum from Carolyn. At least this time we received a reward for sitting through Carolyn's tantrum and flirting with Burke. I guess being murdered and coming back as a ghost is cause for being cranky. But the Ghost of Bill Malloy telling Victoria to leave Collinwood while she is locked in a room inside Collinwood is just mean. Unless he was going to help her get out of the locked room, all he is doing is being a jerk. Victoria is in danger in more ways than one. Besides David trying to kill her, now she is in danger of being scared to death by ghosts.
