Shadows on the Wall: Episode 79

Before continuing, you may enjoy revisiting our original 50th anniversary summary and commentary: https://dsb4idie.blogspot.com/2016/10/episode-79-101366.html

Then & Now

Christine: Ten years, later, I still think Burke feels genuine affection for David, even while he's willing to treat him as collateral damage simply because he's a Collins. Perhaps Burke suspects David is actually his son, and believes David might ultimately be spared whatever fate awaits the Collins family.

John: It's not exactly altruistic that Burke added avenging Bill's death to his to-do list, when you consider that it would probably be a natural by-product of his taking over Collinwood…

When Sam asks Maggie if her customers are still asking about Bill Malloy's death, was he unaware that she didn't have any other customers?

Who do you think called Burke to fill him in on yesterday's episode and the antics at The Blue Whale?

Christine: Oh, it was definitely the snappy guy at the jukebox.

Shadows on the Wall

Christine: I think Mrs. Johnson asking for a second slice of wheat toast, after previously turning her nose up at Maggie's cooking, may have softened Maggie's view of her. Her Pop's advice to mind her manners may have had something to do with it, too.

John: Amusing that despite having just a single paying customer, Maggie still had to write a lot down to capture Mrs. Johnson's breakfast order — vegetable juice and well done wheat toast that she'll butter herself.
