Blair visits Adam and asks him where Vicki is. Adam says she's not there, and Blair warns him not to lie to him. He says he can lie to anyone else, just not him. Blair says he won't make him set Vicki free. He reminds Adam that he's his friend. He asks him again to show him where she's hidden. Adam shows Blair Vicki unconscious and gagged in the closet. Blair tells Adam they will use Vicki to force Barnabas to make him a mate. He does say they can't keep Vicki there for long. Adam says Carolyn did come and ask him about Vicki, and that he lied to her. Blair tells him he must continue to lie to Carolyn, no matter how he feels. Blair says that they will move Vicki to his house tomorrow. He gives Adam drugs to make Vicki sleep.

Blair comes downstairs and runs in to Carolyn. She asks what he was doing upstairs. He says when he heard about Vicki, he went to Adam to see if he was involved. He tells her that Adam is completely innocent. She says that she talked to Adam, too, but she wasn't convinced. She says Barnabas said Adam visited him at the old house, and he is sure Adam is responsible for Vicki's disappearance. Blair asks what motive he would have, and why Adam would want to see Barnabas. Blair tells Carolyn that he thinks Barnabas is very clever—trying to use Vicki's disappearance to find out where Adam is. Carolyn says it's possible, but asks why Barnabas would be so interested where Adam is.

Jeff returns and says there's no word on Vicki's whereabouts. He says he's concerned he'll find her like he found Jennings. Carolyn asks if Jennings is okay, and Jeff says he was given a transfusion just in time. Carolyn goes to speak to the sheriff about other places they can search, leaving Jeff alone with Blair. Blair tells Jeff that on his way to the house, he saw Barnabas in the woods. He says it was if he was running away from something. Jeff says Barnabas was acting peculiar when they were in the woods looking for Vicki. Jeff says he's beginning to wonder about Barnabas, and Blair can barely contain a smile.

Carolyn brings Adam food. She says she's been up all night worrying about Vicki. She apologizes for not being able to stay, and says she needs to be by the phone in case there's news about Vicki. After she's gone, Adam brings Vicki out of the closet and sets her on his bed. He unties her hands and removes her gag. He brings her a glass of water as she wakes. He tells her not to be frightened. He asks her if she loves Jeff, and not Barnabas. She asks him what he has against her. He says he can't explain his reasons, and tells her not to ask any more questions. He pours the drugs into a cup, and she makes a break for the door. He grabs her and warns her that if she's not quiet, he'll have to kill her. She returns to the bed, and he gives her the drink. She says she doesn't want it, but he makes her drink it. Vicki says that Carolyn told her about him. She said Carolyn told her he was very kind and gentle. She says if that's true, he should let her go, and then she passes out from the drugs.

Blair arrives to take Vicki away. He tells Adam she'll awaken and not know where she is. Adam warns him not to harm her. Blair says she'll be fine if Barnabas cooperates. Adam insists he's coming with him to ensure she's safe. Blair says if he leaves his room, Carolyn will call the police. Blair assures Adam that Barnabas will begin the experiment to create Adam's mate tonight.

Vicki wakes up in a strange room. She finds the door is locked and calls for help. She listens and hears the ocean, but has no idea where she is.

Blair goes to the basement where Angelique's coffin rests. He tells her she may arise again, and opens the coffin lid. Inside, we see she has the fangs of a vampire.

Our thoughts

John: Adam is locked in a small room of the West Wing. How many places could he hide Vicki? Shame on Carolyn for not even doing a cursory search for her best friend, and shame on Blair for having to ask Adam to show him.

Christine: Carolyn doesn't want to believe that Adam has turned to the dark side, and Blair probably knew where she was but wanted Adam to get in the habit of obeying his commands.

John: How many times has Vicki disappeared? Aren't the residents in Collinwood used to it, and at the very least, don't they know by now that within a few weeks she'd be back home, safe and sound? I would think there weren't too many regular viewers concerned for her safety.

Christine: I don't know how you can say that after she was hung the last time she disappeared. She may have returned safely the other times, though I disagree that she was sound. We have every right to be concerned for Vicki. These traumatic disappearances could be what's responsible for the dumbing down of her character.

John: And there it is! Angelique—the vampire! So will this bride of the vampire be responsible for turning Barnabas back into what he once was? Or is Barnabas immune as long as he can play the Adam card. Of course, if any affliction Barnabas had was passed on to Adam, I would expect that would be true of his short term memory loss a few days ago...

Christine: I was thinking that Blair was trying to teach Angelique another lesson in empathy, so she could understand how much it sucks to be cursed the way she's cursed Barnabas.

If there is a known assailant in some area, the police would search all residences in that area. There is no way they would not search the West wing. There is no way they would not find Adam, Vicky and/or basement coffins. Angelique could hide at night, but have an issue in the day.
