Julia asks Barnabas if he's sure Cassandra is dead, and he explains that he knows she's dead. He says they need to get rid of the body, to avoid questions about it. As they enter the old house, Julia asks him where the body is, and he's shocked that it is gone.

He assumes Blair came and got her. She asks why he would do that. Barnabas says he feels a freedom he hasn't felt since Angelique first came to Collinwood. Barnabas says Roger will allow Blair to stay for a few days out of politeness, but he has no excuse to stay longer.

Carolyn brings Adam breakfast, and he tells her he had a visitor last night. He describes her as a dark woman with eyes that burned him. She assumes it's Cassandra until Adam says she tried to kill him, at which point she dismisses it as a dream. She asks who would want to kill him, and he says to ask Nicholas, as he stopped her. She says she will. Adam tells her that he's telling the truth, and she says dreams can seem real. He asks her to come back later to read books with him, and she says she'll try.

As she leaves the room, she finds Blair outside. She asks if what Adam claims is true. He tells her of course it was a dream, as she was concerned Cassandra had found him. Blair tells her that Cassandra has left Collinwood forever, and suggests she hear the details from her uncle. He says he'll talk to Adam about his dream.

Adam lets Blair into his room. He tells Adam to enjoy his breakfast, and Adam says it's not polite. Blair asks who taught him that, and he says it was Stokes. Blair tells Adam to let Carolyn think that what happened last night was a dream. Blair says things like that will upset her. He says he needs to act like a man. He asks why he lets them lock him up, and Adam says it's because of the police. Blair explains that can be dealt with. Blair suggests that Adam is in love with Carolyn. He says Adam must take what he wants by grabbing, demanding, lying, cheating... and he will teach him.

Roger shows Blair one of the empty properties they own. He tells him he doesn't think the old furniture would be in his taste. Roger says that he never asked what Blair did, and Blair agrees. Roger also adds that Cassandra never spoke of it. Blair says he doesn't think she ever thought about it. Roger points out he's spoken of her in the past tense, and that he does, too. Roger asks if he knows where she is, and then withdraws the question. He asks if Blair finds the house satisfactory, and how long he'd plan to stay. Blair asks if the house is for sale, saying he may be interested in purchasing it, if it wouldn't trouble Roger for him to be so close. Roger says that's fine, but his sister would need to approve the sale.

Adam looks in the mirror and reminds himself that he's a man, and he needs to take what he wants—Carolyn. He leaves his room.

Carolyn walks Adam back to his room and yells at him, asking what he was doing out of his room. He says he's a man, and she says that may be true, but he needs to stay in his room. She softens, and says he doesn't understand. He tells her she's pretty. She says she's upset, and won't be able to keep him there any longer. She asks him what happened. He tells her he's tired of being alone. She offers to call Professor Stokes to come see him, and Adam says no. He tells her he just made him polite, and no one gets what they want by being polite.

Carolyn tells him she doesn't have time for this. He locks the door and takes the key. He tells her to listen to him. She demands that he unlock the door. She asks if he wants to leave, and Adam says no. She says she'll call Stokes to make other arrangements for him. Adam tells her he loves her, and she recoils. He screams that she must love him. She says he doesn't understand and he grabs her. He says she will love him. She screams for him to let go of her. She demands that he give her the key to the door, and he throws it on the ground. When she goes for it, he grabs her and kisses her.

Blair goes downstairs in his new house, where a coffin sits. He speaks to Angelique, telling her to sleep peacefully.

Our thoughts

John: So are we in Dan Curtis' TROUBLE WITH HARRY mode? I kept wondering where Angelique's body was going to turn up next.

Christine: It looks like he's got Barnabas' basement coffin as well as his smoking jacket. Is it possible he intends to give her a taste of vampirism?

John: It would appear that Nicholas Blair graduated from the Trump University school of dating. Poor Adam. Even Carolyn, with her questionable dating history, is unlikely to fall for that school of courtship.

Christine: I think we've gone from courtship to Frankenrape. Hopefully, someone will show up to rescue her before he figures out what to do with his patchwork parts. At any rate, it doesn't look like he'll be staying at Collinwood much longer.

John: Blair's doll house on the hill almost looks nicer than the main house at Collinwood. Convenient that they have so many places - although they all seem to be vacant, so I don't know why Roger thinks the attorneys will know what they've been charging. I guess it would have been inappropriate to show him the place they were going to gift to Vicki and Burke, before his unfortunate accident...

Christine: You can tell it's a Collinwood property by the crooked portraits. It seems to be appropriately quirky for Nicholas, with some interesting wall hangings and fixtures. How long before he decides to invite Maggie over to his new pad?

"How long before he decides to invite Maggie over to his new pad?"
That's an interesting choice of words, since Blair really strikes me as one of those HALFWAY straight-laced characters who end up having really stereotyped late ' 60's homes, with the pictures and lighting and so on.
(Not that I'm making fun of those for even a moment.)

Oh I would so go into Adam's, room. To tell him I know that I'm not, Carolyn. But, I would be willing to love, you. I'd take Adam in a, heartbeat.. The more times these women keep putting my darling Adam, down. The more and more chances I have to win him, over. He will never be lonely anymore once he's with, me!
