My problem with a huge number of period movies is that no matter who's in charge, they lay on the period stuff so heavily - the songs and everything else - and won't let up for more than a few minutes. And I never have to hate the songs or whatever to have a real problem with THAT.
I still haven't seen DARK SHADOWS, and it's hard to tell from this review just how heavy it is on those things. Would it be a very big problem for me when it comes to the pet peeve I just described?
