Shadows on the Wall: Episode 14

Before continuing, you may enjoy revisiting our original 50th anniversary summary and commentary: https://dsb4idie.blogspot.com/2016/07/episode-14-71466.html

Then & Now

I didn't recall Joe running out on his tab at The Blue Whale. Bartender Bob didn't look happy, but he was consistently speechless about the whole thing.

Is it me, or is Carolyn's initial 'date' dress pretty plain? Of course, I no sooner note that and she decides to change (to an equally plain dress, in my opinion), but at least we all know why.

Joe is our first ghost whisperer, mentioning the spooks he used to believe were at Collinwood.

David adds that he's seen ghosts in Collinwood, and they hate everyone.

Christine: If the door to the closed-off wing is always locked, who opened it? I don't remember if that mystery is ever solved. Matthew and Elizabeth would seem to be the only ones with a key, but they both have the day off. Could Quentin be rattling around up there already?

David punched Vicki twice during their altercation in her bedroom. I suspect he may have learned this bad behavior from Roger, who has a very hands-on disciplinary style.

Shadows on the Wall

I guess we should add Mechano Magazine to the Collinwood Library!

I spied another robot on a shelf in David's room, but it's just seen in passing. The real unique item David has in this episode is the piece he took from his Dad's car.

It's so random, David's gift — a shell for Vicki — doesn't seem worth cataloguing.

Vicki tells Joe that Carolyn is coming right down, and yet she takes his coat, only to dump it on a table.  Clearly the foyer is in need of a coat rack.

Nice to finally see a little more real estate upstairs... at least the door at the end of the hall.

Christine: I believe this is the first episode that does not open with a view of Collinwood and instead focuses on a crescent moon before panning down to a view of the house. I expect we may be seeing this image again in future episodes.

I spied three robots in David's room. Poor David is so messed up he'd rather read Mechano magazines and plot to sabotage his father's car than have cool robot battles.

What stood out to you during this viewing of the episode?
