Blair calls for the spirit of Angelique. He then calls upon the powers of darkness to return her to life. A woman's screams can be heard, and she appears, tied to the tree.

She asks him to untie her, and he asks how she let it happen. She explains the spirit of Trask was responsible, and Blair says it's her fault that her power wasn't stronger than Trask's. He points out her love of Barnabas weakened her. She tries to convince him that she hates Barnabas, and he explains that he won't save her again. Blair points out that he used Vicki to find the tree where Angelique was exorcised.

Jeff arrives at Collinwood, and finds the door standing open. He knocks, and Roger comes downstairs in his pajamas. He asks what Clark is doing in the middle of the night, and Jeff says he has to see Vicki now. Roger lets him in, and goes upstairs to get Vicki.

Blair tells Angelique what she needs to do with Roger, and Angelique reiterates that the dream curse must resume. He points out that the bargain between them means more than anything else to him.

Jeff waits for Vicki in the foyer. Roger comes downstairs and says Vicki is not there. Jeff says the front door was open when he arrived, and suggests she may have gone out and left it open. He goes to look for her, and Roger grabs his coat to join him. As he turns to the door, Cassandra is there. He asks if she's alright, and she says she's glad to be back. She says she left on impulse. Roger says that in time the family will accept her. She asks him to forgive her, and he quickly does. He then remembers that Vicki is missing.

Vicki wanders through the forest. Jeff calls out to her, and then finds her, in a trance. She asks Jeff how she got there. He tells her he'll take her back to Collinwood, and sees she's clutching something in her hand - it's a button.

Nicholas come downstairs and sees Cassandra. They offer up a dramatic reunion for Roger's benefit. Blair tells Roger he needs to be strict with her. She invites her brother to stay, and Roger extends an open invitation to him.

They hear the front door as Jeff and Vicki enter. She stares wide-eyed at Cassandra, surprised she's back. Cassandra offers to take her upstairs, and when Vicki recoils, Jeff offers to do it.

Cassandra asks Roger to get champagne, leaving her alone with Blair in the drawing room. He points out that Vicki is suspicious of her, and asks if she'd like to do something about that.

In Vicki's room, Jeff offers to stay outside her door to prevent her from sleepwalking. She says she's not afraid of sleepwalking—she's afraid of Cassandra. Jeff asks why, and Vicki says that aside from the color of her hair, she looks exactly like Angelique Collins. She points out she arrived suddenly, looking just like the portrait. Vicki says that she's frightened of both her and her brother. Jeff assures her he'll protect her.

Vicki asks why he was there so late in the night, and able to find her. He says that he knows who he is—Peter Bradford. He says a memory of his past came back in a dream. He describes the dream of being in his cell after she was convicted of witchcraft. He says they discussed Nathan Forbes, and he told her he would kill him for what he did to her. He describes finding and shooting Forbes, but he wouldn't die.

Vicki tells him that Peter never escaped from jail, and he didn't kill Forbes. Jeff says it was all so vivid, he knows he was there. She says he probably thinks that because he's heard her talk so much about her experience. She says he needs to see Professor Stokes to find out for sure. There's a knock at the door, and Nicholas comes in to check on Vicki. Jeff notices there's a button missing from Blair's jacket, and he pulls the button Vicki was clutching from his own pocket.

Our thoughts

John: Angelique must have been in hell, because she was still wearing that nightmarish lime green butterfly dress when Blair resurrected her. Of course she somehow changed into a lime green coat by the time she got back to Collinwood.

Christine: Her trendy butterfly caftan is loungewear, so she must have conjured up her lime green coat so she could craft a semi plausible story that didn't involve roaming the countryside in her psychedelic at-home wear to explain her absence to Roger.

John: It's funny how quickly Blair goes from deep-talking warlock to whimsical conversationalist once he brings Angelique back to life.

Christine: What is Blair's true relationship to Angelique, and what is this bargain she made with him that compelled him to answer her summons for help?

John: Jeff/Peter sure had a fun time acting to the lamp in Vicki's bedroom today.

Christine: Yes, it was creepy. Good news from today's episode, everybody! The dream curse will finally get back on track and hopefully work its way towards a resolution. I'm not sure how Vicki plucked a button from so low down on Nicholas' coat, though the only time she could have was when he momentarily lost control of her in the woods in yesterday's episode.
