Adam writes a letter to Carolyn and gives it to Harry to deliver. He tells him that it's a secret, and he can't tell anyone. He tells him to give him Carolyn's answer as soon as he can. Eve comes in and asks what Harry has in his hand. He says it's nothing, and leaves.

She asks about the letter Harry had in his hand, and Adam says they were just talking. She says it doesn't matter, and then goes to the window, remarking about remembering this type of day. He explains that they were made, and asks how she could know these things. She asks how she would know about the Fall, and how the leaves would fall from trees. Adam doesn't understand how she would know these things. She tells him that she doesn't like being captive. He asks her to stay, so they can talk. She says he doesn't have any surprises for her, and he says that he does, and that something is going to happen that's important.

Harry tells Carolyn that he thought Adam might harm him if he didn't deliver the note. She asks where Adam was, and he says they met in the woods. She asks if he's waiting in the woods, as she wants to go to him with her answer. He says she has to do this the way Adam has asked. She tells Harry to tell Adam that the answer is yes, and that she is very happy.

Adam is thrilled to hear that Carolyn said yes. He reminds Harry that Blair can know nothing about this. Harry says he assumes Blair won't be happy about this. Adam calls for Eve to join him, and Harry leaves. Eve arrives and Adam tells her he has great news. She asks if they are leaving, and he says yes. He tells her they are not going away—they are going to Collinwood to see Carolyn. Eve laughs hysterically. Adam tells her that she is going to meet Carolyn.

Jeff is in the garden waiting for Vicki when Carolyn finds him. He says he'd invite her to go with them, but it appears she's already dressed for a date. Jeff hears something, and Carolyn invites him in. He says he's fine outside. Carolyn thanks him for the invite, but says she cannot join them, and goes inside to tell Vicki to hurry up.

Jeff then says he will go inside, but he hides in the bushes. He watches as David sneaks in. He asks why he's hiding from him. David says that he knows Jeff is going to marry Vicki and take her away. Jeff says David can show them around Boston, since he's been there so many times. David says Jeff might have already been there and forgotten about it. He then says he might have been there during the civil war, and Peter Bradford. Jeff grabs him and shakes him, saying that he's Jeff Clark, not Peter Bradford.

Adam arrives at his old room in Collinwood, where Carolyn is waiting. He's excited to see her. She asks about his friend, and Eve walks in, announcing that she is here. She is not impressed by Carolyn. Adam introduces her as Eve. She reluctantly shakes Carolyn's hand. She asks if this room is where she kept Adam. Carolyn corrects her, saying this is the room where Adam stayed. Eve explores the room, and Carolyn asks her to avoid the window. Adam tells her more strongly, and Eve doesn't like it.

Jeff tells David that the stories about he and Vicki meeting in the past aren't true.

Eve gets into an argument with Adam.

Jeff tells David he was thinking about asking him to be the ring bearer at the wedding, and David says he would love to do that. Jeff sends him up to get Vicki, and while he waits, Eve appears. She takes one look at him, and calls him Peter Bradford.

Our thoughts

John: I guess Carolyn gave green sweaters to everyone. Apparently the one Julia cut off Joe yesterday wasn't Adam's, as he was wearing it today.

Christine: I can't imagine why Adam would think Eve would be overjoyed to meet Carolyn, but I guess there had to be a contrived reason for her to cross paths with Jeff Clark.

John: I don't recall Vicki ever being THIS late for anything. That's what he gets for scheduling a date on her day off.

Christine: Jeff Clark had his creep factor dialed up to ten today. It was pretty gross the way he ogled Carolyn and repeatedly asked her to join them for a threesome date. Then he goes off and abuses David, who surely sustained some traumatic brain injury from his violent shaking, since all he could say afterward in response to Jeff's nutty, nonsensical comments about love was, "Honest?" Though I must admit David's overdramatic shouting about seeing Peter Bradford's grave made me want to shake him as well. Honest.

John: So Eve is definitely our next connection to the past, and quite likely to our next flashback. But why would she have known Peter Bradford, of all people?

Christine: Why indeed? Perhaps his serial killer past may come to light. There's definitely something off about this guy.

Jeff: Pretty soon, you're gonna find out that love isn't something you can remember. Sixteen years old. Y'know, when you're sixteen, you can really love somebody, and then you come back ten years later, and you wouldn't even notice her.
David: Honest?
Jeff: Honest.
