Jeff checks on the body of Adam's mate and reviews Lang's notes. He looks up and sees Angelique. He asks who she is and what she wants, and she says she came to help with the experiment. He asks how she knew how to get there, and she claims she found it from Adam's description. Jeff says she looks familiar. He asks why no one would have told him if she was involved in the experiment. She makes her move, leaning in to bite his neck.

Jeff is unconscious in the lab with Angelique standing over him. She wakes him and he asks her what happened. She asks to start the experiment now and he tries to stop her. She explains that he can't give her orders. She tells him that her life force will go into Adam's mate, and she will be free. He says Julia is the only one who can start the experiment. She implores him to try. He explains that the body isn't ready yet. She asks when it will be ready, and he tells her he doesn't know. She pleads with him to use her as the life force. She puts her arms around him, and while he says he minds it, he seems to get over it quickly as she bites him again.

Roger tells Vicki he was surprised by the news of her engagement, but he's happy for her. He asks about the kind of work Jeff plans to be doing, and Vicki says that she doesn't know. Despite his having no experience Roger offers Jeff a job as a salesman. Vicki doesn't know how to thank him.

Angelique explains to Jeff how he will do everything she tells him to, and they will work together to bring Adam's mate to life.

Jeff returns to Collinwood, hesitates before knocking, but then does so. Vicki answers and tells him she has wonderful news. She notices something is wrong, and he says he's tired. She explains Roger would like to talk to him, and she leaves them together in the drawing room. Roger offers him a drink and congratulates Jeff on their engagement.

Roger mentions they're sending some men to Boston for 6 weeks of sales training, and when he returns they'll have a job for him. Roger points out that Jeff doesn't seem overjoyed. Jeff is appreciative, but says he can't leave for about a week. Roger explains that the training time is already set, and Jeff says he'd like to, but he can't go because he's busy. Roger suggests that he reconsider, and Jeff says he can't accept the offer. Roger says he doesn't understand, and hopes for Jeff's sake that Vicki will.

Vicki asks why Jeff turned down Roger's offer. He asks if she trusts him, and she says she has until now. He tells her she must. She asks why she can tell her things, but he won't do the same. She asks if it's pride. He says he can't explain what it is, and walks out on her.

Carolyn comes into Liz' room as she goes through her closet. Carolyn suggests that they go to Boston to go clothes shopping. Liz tells her it would be a waste of time, and tells Carolyn to go on her own. Liz asks her to promise her something. She tells Carolyn when they think she's dead, she wants to be buried in a specific dress. She asks her to promise her.

Liz dreams of Angelique, who tells her to think about her own death. She tells her that Liz will think she's dead, and others will believe she is, too. She tells her she'll find herself lying in a coffin.

Liz sees an open coffin surrounded by mist and candles. Roger and Carolyn look upon her. In the dream, she wills herself to open her eyes so they'll see she's actually not dead. Roger closes the coffin.

Liz wakes up screaming. Carolyn runs in, and her mother tells her that she saw it...

Our thoughts

John: Oh, poor Jeff. Always the pawn of someone more powerful. I wonder if he and Joe will find themselves fighting over Angelique.

Christine: That would be an interesting return to the conflict they had in their past lives as Bradford and Forbes. I'm surprised Angelique is so anxious to become human again. I would think she'd prefer to have some kind of supernatural power to none at all. Who ever knew it could be so easy to create life that anybody could figure it out from a mad scientist's notes.

John: I was hoping Jeff would be offended by Vicki's getting him a job working for the Collins family. Sadly, I don't know that Jeff has any pride...

Christine: If he didn't have a date with his new vampire girlfriend, he probably would have accepted it just to make her happy. He must have lost his last job after he played hooky to take Vicki out on a date, and she subsequently disappeared after her trip to the Old House.

John: Loved the lighting in Liz' dream/nightmare sequence. Great use of red highlights. It will be interesting to see if her nightmare proves true in the days or weeks ahead.

Christine: Yes, another great dream sequence that spares no expense on the vaseline and dry ice, and probably the nicest coffin we've seen on the show yet.
