Barnabas paces in his living room. Julia returns and he asks her what Woodard said. She says he frightened her. He knows she's performing experiments on him. She says she told Woodard that she was treating a rare blood disease, but she's not sure that he believed her. Barnabas says she must burn her notes. She says there's no way he could know about them. She also says she told Woodard that she was interested in Barnabas,
At the main house, Mrs. Johnson answers the door and lets Dr. Woodard in. He says he's there to see David. He asks if Julia is home, and she says no, she's gone like she is on most nights. He asks about which room is David's, and suggests a particular room that she confirms is Julia's. He then heads upstairs.
In the foyer, Roger tells Liz that having Burke live in the house is preposterous. She says they're on good terms now. Roger asks her to talk in the drawing room. Mrs. Johnson comes in from the kitchen and tells Liz that Dr. Woodard is upstairs with David. She then heads upstairs herself.
Woodard enters Julia's room and begins searching her desk drawers.
In the old house, Julia tells Barnabas that she needs her notes. He tells her to burn them immediately. He says they're going to Collinwood together to get them. He says he wants to be sure the box hasn't been tampered with. She points out that Barnabas is clearly afraid. They leave together for Collinwood.
Woodard continues to ransack Julia's room. He drops something, and outside, Mrs. Johnson calls for Julia. She opens the door as Woodard hides behind it. She turns and leaves, and he resumes his search.
Roger asks Liz why she doesn't just turn Collinwood into a hotel. She tells him he needs to accept it.
Barnabas and Julia arrive and start upstairs. Liz and Roger see them, and Julia makes up a story about showing Barnabas architecture in the West Wing. Before they go, Roger asks Barnabas what he thinks about Liz offering the West Wing to Burke for he and Vicki to live in. He seems surprised, and says that while he's concerned about non-Collins family members living in the house, he'd prefer not to lose Vicki.
Woodard continues his quest. He finds a locked box on top of an armoire. He opens the box and removes a journal. He closes the box and returns it to its hiding place.
Woodard comes downstairs to find Liz and Roger talking to Julia and Barnabas. He makes a hasty exit, refusing to speak briefly with Roger. He leaves, and Barnabas and Julia head upstairs. Roger asks Liz if she noticed Barnabas seeming nervous. He wonders why.
Julia gets the box and notices that it has been pried open. He asks about the notebook, which she confirms is gone.
Our thoughts
John: Roger once again mistakenly believes he has any say over what happens at Collinwood. I was surprised that Barnabas didn't back him up, but then Barnabas would only be concerned about Vicki being out of reach.
Christine: I loved when Barnabas got flustered after Julia suggested it wasn't so preposterous that she might care for him, telling her, "I haven't time to talk nonsense. I haven't... had the chance to... arrange for those notes, and they're... they're a danger to me." Apparently, he had time to talk nonsense, after all. I think she seemed pleased about his capability for feeling an emotion such as fear, since it could allow her to hope he might feel love as well.
John: It's been so long since we saw Mrs. Johnson. I find it hard to believe she wouldn't have been nosier when she heard a sound in Julia's room.
Christine: It's the first time we've seen Mrs. Johnson in color. I guess Julia's strong box wasn't so strong since Woodard was able to break it open so easily.
John: I'm sticking with my guess that Woodard doesn't live through tomorrow's episode. I don't think Julia is going to be able to hypnotize him to safety.
Christine: Not to worry. Woodard didn't actually find Julia's notebook. He found Jason McGuire's diary.

LOL! I did half-expect to have Woodard open the "notebook" and read aloud, "Dear diary..." We're pretty sure that Woodard will die, simply because Barnabas hasn't proclaimed that it must happen! After all, nothing says you're safe as can be like a Barnabas death threat.
