Angelique asks Blair if he summoned Joe, and he tells her that she needs to summon him on her own. She calls to him. Joe hears her call, and tries to resist. He can't, because he needs and wants her. He leaves to find her.
Angelique calls to Joe to come to her through the forest to the house by the sea.
Willie is digging up a grave when Joe stumbles across him. He asks what he's doing. He realizes Willie is robbing a grave, and says he's taking him to the sheriff. Willie denies he was robbing graves. He says what he's doing is none of Joe's business.
Angelique tells Blair that something is interfering. She asks him to help, and he tells her she mus use her powers. She calls for Joe with all her power.
Willie asks Joe to leave him alone. Joe says he hears a voice, and Willie doesn't know what he's referring to. Willie then asks if he's going to take him to the police. Joe says he should, but he says something is happening to him. Willie asks what he's talking about, and Joe says he's going where he has to go. Willie calls for him not to go.
Blair tells Angelique that Joe will never be able to resist her.
Willie returns to the old house and tells Barnabas that it's all over. He says Joe caught him in the graveyard.
Barnabas wonders what he was doing in the graveyard. Willie tells him Joe is going to the police, and they need to run before they get there. Barnabas asks what he told Joe. Willie says he couldn't think of an explanation. Barnabas says that the only excuse would be that Willie didn't know what he was doing. Willie says it's not fair. He says he won't let Barnabas blame him. He asks if he's sure Joe went straight to the police, and Willie asks where else he would go.
Joe enters Blair's house and finds Angelique. He says he didn't want to come. She says he came because he wanted to see her, and he tells her he never wants to see her. He says he doesn't understand the power she has over him. She tells him it's the power of love, and he tells her he loves Maggie. He says he hates himself for being there, and she says he won't feel that way for long. She calls him to her. He reluctantly does, and she bites him again.
Joe wakes up, and Angelique asks him how he feels. He says he thinks he's alright. She asks if he's happy, and he says he is.
He tells her he can't look away from her eyes. She says he belongs to her now, and he must never resist her again. He says he wants to; that he shouldn't be there. She says he belongs with her, and he tells her he should be at the hospital when his cousin, Tom Jennings, comes out of his coma. She tells him Tom will die. He says he should be with Maggie, and she says to forget about her. He says he's in love with her, and Angelique tells him that he needs her. She adds that his need for her will grow stronger than his love for Maggie. She tells him it's useless to resist.
She asks what interfered with him coming to her. He says he found Willie Loomis in Eagle Hill cemetery. Blair interrupts him, asking what Willie was doing in the cemetery. Joe asks where he came from, and says he shouldn't eavesdrop. Blair tells Angelique to go to her room, and she does. Joe asks what power Blair has over Angelique. Blair says Joe will only see Angelique when he chooses. He asks again what Willie was doing. Joe says he was digging up a grave. He says he should go to the police. Blair tells him he won't. He will instead do as he wishes.
Blair asks Joe if he understands what he must do. Joe says he doesn't understand, and Blair says he doesn't need to. He asks when he can see Angelique again, and Blair tells him he'll see her once he does what he's asked.
Willie comes downstairs with a suitcase. He tells Barnabas he's leaving. There's a knock at the door, and Barnabas sends Willie upstairs. Barnabas is surprised that Joe has come to see him. Joe tells him he saw Willie at the cemetery, digging up a grave. He says he was going to report him to the police, but he wanted to talk to Barnabas first. Barnabas says Willie is harmless, and doesn't know what he's doing. Joe says Willie saved his life, and he owes him for that. Barnabas says he'll keep an eye on Willie. Joe starts to leave, and Barnabas says he seems to have made a speedy discovery. Barnabas asks what he was doing in the woods, and Joe tells him he was going to visit a friend. Joe leaves, and Willie comes downstairs happy to have heard the news. Barnabas says Joe acted very strange.
Blair tells Angelique that he heard Tom Jennings is coming out of his coma, and if he says anything about seeing her coffin, they will both be exposed.
Our thoughts
John: Why did Willie get upset when Joe left him alone? Wasn't that the best possible scenario for him?
Christine: Though it looked like he was begging him not to go and leave him alone, I believe he was begging him not to go to the police, and was upset because that's where he thought he was going. It just didn't come across very well.
John: Angelique looks more creepy than seductive when she tries to seduce Joe. Maybe it's just those ultra-wide eyes.
Christine: I don't think she looks any creepier than you'd expect from a former witch turned vampire with an unhinged jaw. She really puts Barnabas' bite to shame.
John: I'm sorry. Sorcerer Supreme Nicholas Blair, who has managed to all but take control of Collinsport, is suddenly shaking in his boots because Tom Jennings is coming out of his coma and—gasp—might say he saw a coffin in Blair's basement? Really? That's what it takes to frighten Blair?
Christine: That was a disappointing bit of writing. Let's hope it's somehow redeemed in tomorrow's episode. Perhaps Blair is having a nightmare that he's lost his powers. Also, why wouldn't Angelique have the same power over Jennings as she does over Joe, and simply shut him up? I enjoyed the range of expressions on Joe's anguished face in today's episode.
