Then & Now
John: Ten years on, I still enjoy listening to Elizabeth's Criswell-like dissertation on strangers and mysteries...
Liz tells Carolyn that her life with her father was nothing. Um, except for Carolyn, right? Wasn't she an upside of the relationship?
Christine: And I still have to wonder why David is running around in suit and tie. No wonder the kid is so uptight and disturbed.
Shadows on the Wall
John: All this brouhaha over Burke's first oil strike photo? Why on earth was Carolyn cleaning up David's desk, anyway? And then later on, she's making a mess of it again! What other Devlin artifacts was she hoping to find?
Christine: She was probably hoping to find a more attractive photo of him. Is that a shadow behind Burke or did he have long hair?
One thing I hadn't noticed before is the shadow cast by the window onto the wall to the left of the bookshelf in David's room. That's a nice touch.
A few other scenes from the episode…

Elizabeth hasn't left the house in 18 years and yet she seems to be the least neurotic member of the Collins family. I think that the whole family could use a few months of therapy with Nurse Ratched.
