John: Sam says Bill was one of the finest men to have walked the Earth. What's with everyone's canonization of Bill Malloy? He was a nice enough guy, but he was no saint!
So when everyone working for the Collins clan got the day off in celebration, I mean in honor, of Bill's death... they included Vicki in that list? She's off galavanting around, and David is left unattended.
Christine: In Episode 56, Elizabeth told Vicki to cancel David's lessons, saying she wanted him to play outside and that there was no reason for Vicki to stay if there was something she wanted to do. It appears David's idea of playing outside was to investigate where Bill Malloy met his untimely end.
Joe calls him Punchy, Sam calls him Mike, and sometimes he's just Barkeep. No wonder Bartender Bob stays silent. Everybody calls him by a different name but his own.
I enjoyed David's interactions with Carolyn today, especially when he rolled his eyes as she went on about how much she hates it at Collinwood. David seemed to be expressing what many of us were probably thinking. Yes, Carolyn, we know. You hate it at Collinwood. It's not like she doesn't have an out either. Joe would be more than happy to whisk her away.
Shadows on the Wall
John: They sure spent plenty of time dealing with David's interest in figuring out where Bill's body was found... because... why? As we said 10 years ago, sounds like a job better served by his magic crystal ball.
Christine: He certainly didn't need his crystal ball to predict that Bill Malloy would be coming back.
Sam had an interesting smoking trick I've never seen done before in which he exhaled curls of smoke from his mouth and sucked them back up into his nose. Perhaps he thought this would reduce the smoke in the room and give the Sheriff less reason to insist that he leave the bar.
